Hello! We are Natasha, Ben, Carter and Avery and we live in Nashville, TN. Our goal is to help you travel more freely by providing you with helpful information such as: how to find cheap flights, when you should travel to get the biggest bang for your buck, unique experiences that aren’t widely known, tricks and travel hacks to help save money, and much more!

So what makes us different than other travel bloggers?

I, Natasha, have been in the travel industry since 2006 and have traveled a ton both domestically and internationally. My first job in the travel industry was with a Visitors Bureau in Georgia where I attended travel trade shows all around the United States and sold our city to sporting events, conferences, etc.

From there, I landed a dream job working from home (before working from home was a thing) as the North American Sales Rep for an international hotel company based out of Paris, France called Accor.

I absolutely loved that job; however, a few years after my son was born, I realized that my time wasn’t my own and I didn’t want a nanny raising my kids. So I quit and started my own marketing business that ended up having me travel around the world.

With all of those jobs and experiences, I know that I can bring you a ton of information that will help you in your travel endeavors.

People who know my job history are constantly asking me to help them with their travels, so I thought I would create a blog to give everyone the information that I have learned, not just my friends and family!

✈️NASHVILLE – We live here, but I know so many people want to come to Nashville and I’m here to help you know all of the insider info!

✈️PARIS, FRANCE – I have been to Paris numerous times…with an arts tour for a college class, when I worked for the hotel company based out of Paris, and for personal trips. I have been there with big groups, on a romantic trip with just Ben, and hosted some of my best friends on a girls trip! Outside of Nashville, I know the city of Paris the best.

✈️SOUTH AFRICA – From walking with lions to their watering hole to swimming with penguins – you’ll do things here that people only dream of! South Africa absolutely has a huge piece of my heart!

✈️COSTA RICA – Ben grew up surfing and wanted us to be a “surfing family”. Costa Rica is known as the world’s #1 place to learn how to surf so we have been their both as a couple and with our kids to surf.

But not only that, we have explored the jungles and we have so many tips to give you for both the coastal and in-land parts of Costa Rica!

✈️ IRELAND – From Dublin to Gallway and down to Cork, we have toured Ireland’s green pastures and hills so much so that I’m waiting for Ed Sheeran to write a song about it haha.

️SPAIN – We will probably always say that Spain was the cleanest country that we have been to so far!

️ENGLAND – Ben and I both studied abroad in England!

✈️ PERU – Peru was both work and play as I helped launch a company in Lima, Peru!

✈️DOMINICAN REPUBLIC – After searching literally the whole world for where to go for our 20 year anniversary, we picked the Punta Cana – some place that had never even been on my radar, but I’m SO glad we did! Read why I believe this is one of the best bangs for your buck!

✈️ GERMANY, HOLLAND, BELGIUM – More of our study abroad programs were held in these beautiful countries!

✈️ And many places in the UNITED STATES including Hawaii, Alaska, New York, Florida, Coastal Georgia, Arizona, Colorado, Utah, Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee!

More about us and The Free Life name…

I need to give credit to my mom who came up with the name Free Life. She started FreeLifeSoapCo several years ago and there were many discussions of how my family lived the name “Free Life”.

So with that, we linked arms and she said that I could name this blog The Free Life Travel so that I could share with you all the things that can help you travel more freely like we do.

In 2020, we decided to homeschool our kids when the schools shut down. We thought we would homeschool just for that short season; however, once we tasted what it was like to not be on the school’s schedule, we were hooked! One more piece of the “The Free Life” puzzle was put into place!

Another “Free Life” characteristic of ours is that we are super frugal and that definitely goes with our travel also. We have been able to travel so much of the world at a fraction of the cost and will share all of that info with you.

Make sure to fill out the contact form because one of my goals is to start working with destinations to get special deals for you all. Remember, this is what I did in my job when I worked for corporate travel so I should be able to get this done for you!

There is so much that I want to share with you all about “The Free Life” lifestyle.

From traveling to homeschooling, faith, fitness and food that will help your family thrive – these are things that have given us freedom. Our goal is that by sharing these things, we help you find more freedom from the ever-growing pressures of this world.

I hope through this blog, I can live out what Galatians 5:13 says, “You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh ; rather, serve one another humbly in love.”

So with that, I hope that I can serve you all well through this site. Stay tuned as there is SO much for me to share!
